A tribute to the "King of Pop" :(

"Dangerous...."
"Bad...."
"Black or White...."
"Beat it.. "
"Heal the World..." ............. and many many more to go.... I used to hear these songs at least once in a day..!!! Its my favorites...!! Whenever i hear to these songs, i am always in a hep mood, But now whenever i hear them, something inside my heart is becoming very sad.. :( I still am not able to digest the fact that this man, who gave us so much music is no more :(
I have been very busy at works and i didnt watch tv at all for a week or so. Suddenly my hubby calls me when i was @ works and told that "Hey.. u know wat.. MJ IS DEAD..!!!!" I was like "WWAAATTTT....??????" I just could not believe it..!! I ran up to my cafeteria where i can watch the news and the entire news coverage was on MJ..!! I was just glued to the TV and didnt move out anywhere to see what really happened..!! I was expecting his London concerts and now after seeing the news i was really sad!!
As soon as i came back to my desk, i started listening to MJ songs.. then i thought.. this man, as a single person has reached to every part of this world with his music and dance. I guess there is absolutely nobody in this world who doesnt know MJ, his music and his moves! His music and dance was reached to every city, every villiage..! This guy was like GOD to music..!! Man.. what an entertainer he was.. it can be seen in any of his stage performances!
There were lot of controversies running around him.. but leaving all those behind.. just think what he has given us.. he introduced us to something called as "POP" music.. he introduced us to such awesome dance moves, which everybody tried to learn from him, starting from a small kid to older people! Songs like Dangerous, Bad, Heal the World, Earth Song can never be forgotten or will never get bored!!
I couldnt stand watching the MJ's memorial in TV. I was literally into tears. I have never felt this way for any artist. Nothing has affected me so much. I myself dont understand why i am affected sooo much!! Anyways.. am still not out of it!!
As my hubby rightly says, Even for nothing/any of bad of him, i still feel pity at the MJ's death. To my taste for musik, i feel he/his energy had done 'musik' at past, for the future!!
MJ, you, your music, your dance will always stay with us.. Thank you for everything you have given us.. You will always be the "King of Pop"!
MISS YOU..!!! R.I.P :(

Where is the "Passion"?

F**K...!!! Thats the word that comes to my mind when i think about the II semi-final of the IPL 2009. It is an awesome Saturday and after a beautiful game of DC Vs DD yesterday, we were waiting for today's match CSK Vs RCB. CSK is supposed to be the strongest team "on paper" but they sucked today..!! Damn man.. you cant depend on the same guy Hayden and Muralidaran on all matches.. Guys.. this is the semi-final.. Its do-or-die and mind you its a knock-out.. Do you hear it..!! "ITS A KNOCK-OUT SITUALTION!! YOU ARE NOT GONNA GET ANOTHER CHANCE" thats what it means.. :(
Why arent the players understanding this? Why dont they know the seriousness of things? Why are they so lethargic in their game? Where is the fire? Where is the Passion for you team? Oh god.. i am just pissed off.!!!!
Look at teams like RR,KIXP, DC and RCB.. they are learning at every game but this one team CSK will never learn their mistakes.. they still miss "crucial" catches.. They still do real bad misfields.. Man.. when are they gonna ever learn??? :(
Why does Dhoni have to stick in with Morkel and Oram? Why Tushara, Thyagi, Ntini not taken in the team? What did the Morkel-Oram partnership achieve...? Hayden and Parthiv Patel gave a good start, why Dhoni was not able to keep that up? Urrggggggggggggggg.....!!!!!
Only one thing that runs through my mind is, the "Passion" for the game was missing in the team.. all the players were too cool and too casual.. they either didnt take the game seriously or they were strong enough not to show their tension outside... The fire inside them was missing.. I think, they dont react even as much as we react to situations...
As the very famous dialog goes,
"Kashtapattu velai seiyardavida, ishatapattu velai seinjadan jaikamudiyum"
I am totally pissed off and totally disapointed..!! :(

Crazy Language English

We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes,
But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes.
One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,
Yet the plural of moose should never be meese.
You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice,
Yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men,
Then shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen?
If I speak of my foot and show you my feet,
And I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet?
If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,
Why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth?

Then one may be that, and three would be those,
Yet hat in the plural would never be hose,
And the plural of cat is cats, not cose.
We speak of a brother and also of brethren,
But though we say mother, we never say methren.
Then the masculine pronouns are he, his and him,
But imagine the feminine: she, shis and shim!

Let's face it - English is a crazy language.....
There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger;
neither apple nor pine in pineapple.
English muffins weren't invented in England .
We take English for granted, but if we explore its paradoxes,
we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square,
and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing,
grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham?
Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend.
If you have a bunch of odds and ends
and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught?
If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?
Sometimes I think all the folks who grew up speaking English
should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane.
In what other language do people recite at a play and play at a recital?

We ship by truck but send cargo by ship.
We have noses that run and feet that smell.
We park in a driveway and drive in a parkway.
And how can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same,
while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language
in which your house can burn up as it burns down,
in which you fill in a form by filling it out,
and in which an alarm goes off by going on.

And, in closing, if Father is Pop, how come Mother's not Mop?
AND IF PEOPLE FROM POLAND ARE CALLED POLES THEN PEOPLE FROM HOLLAND SHOULD BE HOLES AND THE GERMANS, GERMS !!

Will we ever change..???!!

This has been running in my mind for so long and I didn’t know who to share these with. So I thought I will put it in my blog.. just to vent out my anger!!

Last week me and my husband had gone to ooty to celebrate our first year wedding anniversary. We returned on Sunday and reached Bangalore City junction around 9.30 PM. The train was late :(. As usual, we wanted to take an auto back home as we were already damn tired so we went the pre-paid auto queue. When we were walking towards the queue, there were around 20-30 autowalas trying to negotiate with us to take their auto. And you know what, they tell “Its pre-paid auto only sir… you pay the same amount as what you pay by taking an auto from the pre-paid counter.. etc”. But when you ask him for the rate, it will be double the money what we usually pay through pre-paid auto or by proper meter!! We clearly told those autowalas that we will take only the prepaid auto. To be more precise, the pre-paid auto rate for our house is Rs.99 and the external autowalas were asking for Rs.200!! The saddest part of the entire stuff is, there are no autos available in the pre-paid auto stand. All the autowals are outside, trying to get a “savari” for their own benefit. It was a typical demand vs. supply scenario in the pre-paid auto stand!! Why is this happening..?? Why cant people be “fair” in things? The main reason I can think of why this is happening is because of “US”! Yes, we the people are not bothered to queue up in the pre-paid auto stand, we are lazy, we want to reach our destination ASAP and we are just not bothered about how much we are paying these autowalas!! It is not the money but the moral that is disturbing me!! Since we are entertaining them by not using the government’s resource, we are fooling ourselves and we are also allowing people to fool us!!

Another incident on the same day!! Same pre-paid auto queue.!! I was standing in the queue to get the ticket and my husband was taking care of the luggage.!! I was almost near the counter when suddenly a woman broke the queue and joined in between! She barged in the queue, 2 positions before me..!! And best part is, the man who was actually standing there was “not bothered”!! I was pissed off!! I told the woman that the queue starts at the far end and she answers back telling “I have some luggage here and I cannot leave it!!” Brilliant..!! “Lady, people come with luggage in the Railway station”. At that moment I felt I should have given her one big blow!! But I didn’t coz nobody else were actually bothered..!! When are we going to learn some discipline in life? Why should there be a queue system then? Why aren’t people bothered when someone breaks the queue? Again I think it is our mistake!!

There are lots of such small small things which we choose to ignore. I am not sure if we do it deliberately or we are just not bothered about things!! Ooty is known as “Queen of hills” but you know what rules ooty, “Plastics”!! There is a board in every tourist spot in ooty which says “Plastic free zone”.. “please do not throw plastics”.. but are we bothered..?? Atlease people who are learned, who can read and write bothered? Nopes.. we just think “It is not our problem”!! One very good thing I have learned from my husband is; he will never throw plastics on the road in any part of the country. He is very very cautious on that. I was never cautious earlier but I learned it from him. Now it is a habit, it is a practice. We should make it a practice..!!

We see people spitting on the roads, throwing toxics on the streets, polluting the city we live, throwing garbages on the roads, but still we choose to ignore coz we feel we have other better things to do. We are visibly seeing nature reacting to all that we do. The percentage of natural calamities has increased incredibly off late..!! But still we are not reacting..!! :(

I think it’s high time we sit back and think. These small changes can bring big transformations in our habitat. There is just no point in accusing the politicians and debating with them. They are anyways not going to do anything for the country. But we, as citizens of India can make a big change..!!

Think about it..!! Wake up..!! Its better late than never..!!

Mother..!!!!!

She got up at 6.00 AM that morning.. it was the day after her daughter's marriage.. last evening, she had dropped her daughter off in her in-law's house, with visibly happy tearful face, and blessed her with a good life ahead. Today, early in the morning, she wakes up to see a house empty, with pin drop silence. Three days back, this house was full of noise and people around, the bride - her daughter was running here and there, dressing up, applying mehendi, chatting with people, deciding what to wear, etc. She has been running around her daughter to make sure her daughter is comfortable at all times. And now, the same home, with no sound, with no life, the mother looks at the decorations made in the house, everything looks very pretty, but nothing is meaningful now, her most lovable daughter is not there...!!! Oh yeah.. her daughter is now someone's wife..!!! A contented mother, who is happy that she has done her duty correctly by choosing a perfect match for her daughter, at the same time, a mother who is missing her daughter more than anything in life..!!!
She slowly gets up, thinks of making coffee for herself, then starts remembering those days when the first thing in the morning, she used to scream at her maximum voice to wake her daughter up...!! She thinks of those golden days when her daughter sleepily pulls her next to her and talk with her..!!! She thinks of those moments when her daughter made her a cup of coffee..!!!!!
She started becoming a little lonely when she knew that her daughter got a job in Bangalore and she is going to stay away from her...!!! But she was damn happy for her... you know, she is not like any normal mother who says sentiments are more important than anything. She is a lady of practicality. She made her daughter understand the importance of education, the importance of knowledge, the importance of a career. She was her daughter's inspiration..!! Well.. she herself is a teacher by profession.. teaching for the past 20 years.. and trust me, she is not an inspiration only to her daughter, but to every other student she had come across..!!!
She has always thought that her daughter was her only support in life.. mentally, physically, emotionally or whatever you call it..!! Now she feels as though, her entire strength is been pulled out from her...!!! Of course, she understands that this is what is life and she is very happy for her daughter... but she is not able to accept the fact that her daughter is not around her anymore..!!!! Mothers...!!! Goddess..!!!!!
She thinks of every trivial thing her daughter has done to her... even after going to Bangalore for work, she and her daughter used to be on the phone every night for hours, she now thinks whether it will be possible!!!! Her daughter used to come home atleast once in 2 weeks, for her daughter cannot be without meeting her for such a long period, she now thinks whether this will happen again ever!!!!
She knows her daughter's temper and she is worried as to how her daughter will manage in her in-laws house!! She knows what a lousy cook her daughter is, she wonders how her daughter is gonna manage things!! Man... how many things can she worry about..!!!!!!!!!!
She herself is a daughter, a lovable sister, a wife, a teacher, she is a doctorate, she knows the world, she is in contact with most of the top most people in the industry, but when it comes to her daughter, she is totally, emotionally bonded. She is with full of love, full of care, full of emotions, full of concern..!!!
Hats off to you mom..!!! Love you forever..!!!!

Naadi Josiyam... That is what they say!!!!

Last weekend, me and my hubby had gone for a "Spiritual" tour, (as we call it) to down south, in Tamil Nadu. We had gone to places like Kumbakonam, Mayavaram, Tanjore etc. In our 2 day trip, on sunday we had gone to one Sivan temple called Vaitheeswaran Koil. It is around 17kms from Mayiladuhurai. Here the Lord is supposed to protect people from health issues and people having any kind of health ailment, if they come and pray here, it is believed to be cured..!!! Such is the power of the Lord here.
There is something much more famous than the Lord himself in this place. It is called "Naadi Josiyam". Heard about this..???? So.. what is this?? what is so special about this...?? Well.. It is said that, when you are born, your destiny is already written for you - what we call as "fate". Its just another form of astrology, but which is believed to be the most accurate of all..!!!!
This kind of astrology, tells about you, your family etc, by reading ur fingerprint (mostly the Thumb print). Your fingerprint is so unique that it can totally "talk" about you..!!! Sounds good right.. :)
We, just out of curiosity, went to this place and wanted to see how the entire thing works. My hubby gave his fingerprint to this man (I escaped off!!!!), and that man says, there will be a set of "olai chuvadi" (scripts written on leaves on those olden days) matching for this particular thumb print and he will filter out the actual "olai" written for my hubby by asking us some questions and matching the same. Weird na..??????? Anyways.. he asked us some basic questions for which my hubby answered, and it came to a point where he himself told that - it is written in the "olai" that my hubby's wife's name will be "Prithi"....!!!!! I was shell shocked..!!! We never told this guy my name or my hubby's name, but he reads the entire thing out from the "olai"..!!!!!! We were really stunned..!!! And this guy keeps reading, talking about my hubby's family, his background, his nature of job etc etc.. and everything turned out to be true...!!! God..!!! How the hell is this possible...?????
I am a firm believer of God and i strongly believe in something called as "fate" or whatever you call it as. Moreover, i believe in science too..!!! I did a project on fingerprint processing in my final year, in which i exploited the idea of the fingerprint being unique for each and every person, and used the same for cryptography. When i was researching for my project, i found out that characteristics of the fingerprint, and how it is said to be unique for each and every person..!! All these are proven facts..!!! Do you know that, even twins fingerprints differs..??? Amazing na..????
I also read somewhere that the actual meaning of Naadi Josiyunm is: Naadi – means approaching…We approach the Rishis through Naadi josiyars to predict the future for us, which they have already done 2000 years back. According to the Rishis, life is full of Mathematics…So using horoscope, they calculate each and everyday happenings for us…If we don’t have any horoscope, the person, who reads the Naadi, [called as Naadi josiyar] takes the Thumb impression of us and with that he predicts our future. Interesting eh....????!!!!
Why did i suddenly wrote about this..?? This astrologer guy told lots about us, our family, our occupation etc and it was kinda eating my head..!!! Is this concept of naadi josiyam true or is it just that these people are smart enough to pull words from our mouth..?? Dunno..!!
There is a very famous proverb
I Believe it because I Hope for it. - Leon Blum
This is what happens in most of the cases i guess.. But one thing i learnt after going through this entire stuff is - Be positive and have faith in God. I feel God is not only a supernatural power but also your guide who will help you in taking the right path in your life..!!! Its just that the path is already set for you - your fate, your naadi or whatever..!!!!! Just like we have Guru (teachers) in schools, in organizations where we identify some person as our role model, in our everyday life where we see our mom n dad as our guide, we can also view God as a Guru who will help us, guide us and save us in all scenarios. This will help each and everyone of us in all means..!!!!
Ok Ok... am not preaching here.. its getting too spiritual... hehehe.. :))
By the way... Do you believe in this..??? Lemme know... :)
